A note from Rebecca

I have always been curious about the world.

When I was little, I loved dressing up in my grandmother’s vintage dresses. They were pieces of another life, fabrics that had been somewhere before I found them, silhouettes that belonged to another time. I would put them on and disappear into them, imagining who I might become.

I think that was my first understanding of what clothing can do.

A dress can carry a story.
It can transport you somewhere.
It can make the ordinary feel a little more magical.

I’ve been curious ever since.

Curious about places I’ve never been, objects I’ve never seen, the hands that made things, the history hidden inside them, and what might be waiting just beyond the edge of what I already know.

That curiosity eventually led me to fashion.

After more than thirteen years working across the industry, I wanted to make clothing differently. Not simply something beautiful for a season, but pieces with enough character to become part of a woman’s own story. I wanted to know where the materials came from, who made each garment, and to have a hand in every part of the process.

So I followed that curiosity somewhere new.

In 2023, my family and I left New York for Italy, where I opened our studio. Today, a small team of skilled women artisans makes each Rebecca Elizabeth piece by hand, slowly and thoughtfully, one dress at a time.

But the studio is only one part of the story.

The other part is wonder.

I find inspiration everywhere: in the details of an old building, a strange flower, a painting, the night sky, a vintage dress, a journey somewhere unfamiliar, or an idea about what the future might look like.

Our collections are little worlds of their own, each beginning with a question, an image, a place, or something I can’t stop thinking about.

Perhaps that’s why I’ve never wanted Rebecca Elizabeth to feel like simply a clothing brand.

I think of it more like a cabinet of curiosities: a collection of beautiful, unexpected things gathered from the past, the present, and whatever might be waiting ahead.

Every piece is made to be lived in, discovered, and eventually given a story of its own.

Because the world has always been my greatest source of inspiration.

And I believe it becomes even more beautiful when we stay curious.
